Deal Ending In

As wonderful as the centre of Edinburgh is, very important and interesting historic sites are to be found not just there but right round the city – and particularly in Edinburgh’s twin seaports of Newhaven and Leith. Getting out to see these fantastic places, which compliment the stories of the Old and New Towns so well, is exactly what this tour is about. You’ll see a set of sites which have never been curated as a single tour until now:-Newhaven Harbour, Edinburgh’s historic fishing port and naval HQ; birthplace of James IV’s spectacular Great Michael.-The historic port of Leith, trading centre and royal landing place.-The world’s oldest golf clubhouse, and both contenders for world’s first golf course!-The gathering spot for King James IV’s army before its defeat at Flodden.- Coffee stop (not inclusive) – The 17th century spring-house at Comiston, that supplied Edinburgh with fresh water.- Edinburgh’s oldest man-made structure, the standing stone known as the Caiy-Stane.
